Recently the superhero genre has experienced a huge renaissance, thanks to franchise reboots of comic fan favorites like Sam Raimi’s Spiderman trilogy and the Nolan Batman films.  Marvel studios has been behind some other fairly successful blockbusters of late, giving us franchises like X-Men, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.  But stuck in the midst of all these Marvel successes is the abysmal Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007, Tim Story) which pretty much sucks all the fun out of a potentially thrilling comic universe.

To start, the cast for this film was sub-par to say the least.  From the wooden Jessica Alba to the mostly unknown Ioan Gruffudd to the overbearing Chris Evans, this patched together group will never be mistaken for Oscar fare.  And if that weren’t bad enough, this movie offers almost zero story; the plot that is put forth is diluted
and downright confusing.  The first nearly 40 minutes is just complete fluff, as we’re introduced to the main four(Thing played by Michael Chiklis, Human Torch played by Evans, Alba as the Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic played by Gruffudd) prancing around making jokes even 5 year old children would find immature while the Silver Surfer(voiced by Laurence Fishburne) flies across the worlds’ skies, freezing everything in its path…how or why he’s doing this, is never completely explained.  Eventually we find out that this mysterious Silver Surfer is trying to end the world, so of course the completely cliche-ridden, inept government comes to the Fantastic Four for help in tracking down and stopping him.
These sorts of movies are meant to be fun; but this thing was just a chore to sit through.  Its budget was over $130,000,000, yet somehow the special effects left a lot to be desired, as most of the CGI and computer graphics seemed bland and dated.  The writing really lacked the inherent sense of fun that typically comes with the Marvel universe and mostly relied on cheap ploys and petty uses of the gang’s superpowers to try and pry cheesy laughs out of the audience; which hardly ever worked at all.  Even at the movie’s most serious moments, it never lost its over-the-top, comic tone and so we could never take what’s happening on the screen seriously.  This thing had more cheesy one-liners than any Arnold movie, which wouldn’t be such a terrible thing if the lines had been delivered with any sense of timing or wit.
Ultimately, this movie didn’t know which direction it wanted to take.  It was far too childish to entertain any grown adults, yet way too vague and confusing to capture kids’ attention.  But most importantly, it was just plain pointless and boring.  I only hope that future superhero films use this as a barometer on how not to do it.

Years after his death, Adolf Hitler has been kept alive and breathing by movie makers across the globe. Many a film-maker has made a film on the German leader, who was responsible for World War II. In fact, the Second World War and Hitler have been fascinating subjects through the decades, with a number of international projects depicting the atrocities committed by the dictator.Though there have been many films on Mahatma Gandhi, including the Academy Award winning GANDHI, GANDHI TO HITLER is the first Hindi film that attempts to tell the story of the Nazi leader on celluloid. It portrays his final days, hiding in a bunker in Berlin after his downfall. Director Rakesh Ranjan Kumar also portrays the relationship that he shared with his associates, his paranoia, his insecurities during those days. The story based on two letters written by Mahatma Gandhi to Adolf Hitler in 1940 to prevent World War II. Written by www.moviencelebrity.com

The year 2011 seems to be the year of the small movie. There have been so many small budget movies that have done moderately well, that you wonder whether the big budget Bollywood movie still makes sense. Subhash Ghai, the veteran producer director understood this right in early 2000s, and created a different studio for small budget mvies, Mukta Searchlight. The first movie that was released under this banner was Iqbal. Looking at the movie, we can be sure that the next movie coming out of the banner, Cycle Kick, should be something quite interesting.Written by www.moviencelebrity.com

Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. St. Marks is a school full of bright teenagers having aspirations and looking to make a mark on the world. But teenage life isn`t just about school, it`s also about love and crushes. It is the period where everyone is growing up and moving on. In this competitive, confusing and sometimes cruel world, we have four characters whose destinies seem to take them on different paths. Somehow, though, they all come together at St. Marks.Youngistan rules! Bollywood has realized the potential of this segment of moviegoers -- the teen market -- which explains why movie-makers are attempting to wow Gen-X with films that appeal to their sensibilities. Actually, the social networking generation can make or break a film in a span of minutes. It is this aspect that keeps a storyteller on his/her toes. Unconventional, out-of the box themes, but contemporary by nature are being attempted. Luring the youth to cineplexes is the prime motive of the film fraternity today.Written by www.moviencelebrity.com

The Hindi film industry's fixation with gangster movies continues. Right from DEEWAAR, DHARMATMA, DAYAVAN, ANGAAR, PARINDA, AGNEEPATH, SATYA, COMPANY, VAASTAV, BLACK FRIDAY, GANGSTER, D, SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA to the recent ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, the city's sleazy underbelly has been depicted most convincingly in these films. Just makes me wonder at times, how much will film-makers milk a genre? But, I guess, every film-maker has his/her distinctive approach of narrating a story. Also, it all boils down to how taut the written material is.Written by www.moviencelebrity.com

The lives of the affluent and illustrious have often been chronicled in newspapers and television. The achievements get as much prominence as the heinous crimes they commit. Recall the number of drunken driving cases that led to fatal accidents and causalities or abduction of moneyed kids to make that extra buck. SHAITAN too borrows from real life. It maps out the lives of five youngsters -- three of them belonging to the upper crust -- and how the 'uber cool' youngsters commit felony after felony to smokescreen the dreadful offense they have committed. This motion picture brings to the fore the shaitan that skulks within us.SHAITAN narrates the story of five youngsters who are out to have an irresponsibly reckless escapade, but get involved in a botched crime. Also, there's talk that SHAITAN incorporates the infamous Adnan Patrawala kidnap-and-murder case in its plot, which isn't true at all. Sure, there's abduction and also a spate of murders, but it doesn't borrow from that episode in any way. The film drives home a reality that the youngsters are aggressive, sexual, brutal, edgy and well aware of everything happening around. They like to investigate the darker side and push the envelope till they can be brought in check by power and command.Written by www.moviencelebrity.com

An origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. There was a lot of hype going into this film. I was very excited to finally see another Planet of the Apes film. I am a big fan of the original and had fun with the sequels and even after Tim Burton's remake I was still excited for this film and I got to say this is the best Planet of the Apes picture since the original. BIN BULAYE BARAATI follows the footsteps of successful masala movies, which defy rationale and logic. The sole motive/intention is to entertain. Though the film may not boast of a novel plot -- we have witnessed similar stories in the past -- and you may even complain that the screenplay tilts towards ridiculous and absurd, but the fact is that the entertainment quotient keeps you hooked at most times. Of course, BIN BULAYE BARAATI is strictly for those who love masala films, the 'single screen audience' in trade parlance. .Bin Bulaye Baraati is a hilarious story. It takes off when, Gulshan Grover (Durjan Singh) who sports an unbelievably different look of a dangerous dacoit meets don Mukesh Tiwari (Gajraj) at a casino to sell his diamonds and jewels, and AD (Aftab) who is on the run, takes away with the van full of dacoits`s fortune. As lovers AD and Shreya (Nisha Kothari) are on the run, they come across , Murari (Rajpal Yadav), Hazari (Sanjay Mishra) and Chita Singh (Vijay Raj), who are also on the run. The cat and mouse game of the chase results into chaotic pile-up with more characters colliding together leading to dramatic and comical sequences where all of them end up to take shelter at Madhavgarh Village.Written by www.moviencelebrity.com

The latest film in the Transformers franchise starts promisingly with an alternative history/conspiracy plot about the Space Race and the 1969 NASA moon landing. What unravels is then a familiarly convoluted and busy spectacle film about yet another clash between the rival robot alien Transformers involving their human allies, with Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) once more coming to the rescue on the side of the Autobots. Director Michael Bay and his production team have put an extraordinary amount of work into the CGIs, 3D and sound design, which may have been extremely effective if he calmed down his trademark rapid editing to allow the audience to actually focus on what is going on. Unfortunately this rarely happens. There are a couple of good scenes later in the film – an exciting skydive and an inventive sequence set inside a building about to topple over – but they are too little too late and then followed by an unengaging lengthy finale that obliterates any good faith. In other words, Bay has delivered another empty spectacle that is overlong and mostly tedious. For a film centred on action set pieces it contains a lot of dull exposition and the humour is either cheesy or very simple innuendo, based around the fact that Sam’s new girlfriend Carly Spencer (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) is attractive in the most conventional sense. And we’re not talking fun, cheeky ‘Nice beaver’ à la The Naked Gun innuendo here either, we’re talking about stuff that Benny Hill would have dismissed as banal. The performances are yet again on the same level as pantomime theatre with lots of shouting, Gilmore Girls-style rapid dialogue and characters making ‘amusing’ asides to themselves. If nothing else Transformers: Dark of the Moon may one day becoming a teaching tool to demonstrate how ideology is expressed through mass entertainment cinema, in the same way that English students are encouraged to read tabloid newspapers to learn about persuasive language. The hyper-conservative agenda in this film is so pronounced that it almost renders parodies like Team America: World Police redundant. Like the previous films in the franchise, it positions the military as the good guys who know what’s best while the government characters are all bureaucrats who stand in the way of what needs to be done. Soldiers are good ol’ country boys while the government, which in this film is firmly identified as the Obama Administration, gives in to the enemy to allow ‘them’ to take over the planet.Written by www.moviencelebrity.com

However, he is hesitant to admit it as for him the only thing that matters is money. Priya does not understand his hesitance in giving a name to their relationship.Murder 2 hindi movie is all about Simran Jacquelin Fernandez is married to Sudhir Ashmit Patel but due to her lonely married life she gets into an affair with her college time lover Sunny Emraan Hashmi, whom she accidetly meets after marriage, and when Sunny Emraan Hashmi, is murdered, she is wrongfully accused, when it is actually her husband who has killed him.Eventually Murder 2 turns out to be a mixed bag with a definite chartbuster ('Haal E Dil'), a good track ('Phir Mohabbat'), a couple of situational numbers ('Aye Khuda, Aa Zara') and a barely passable song ('Tujhko Bhulaana'). Of course one did except the album to be slightly better at the least. However if one leaves aside the fact that it is a franchise that one is listening to, Murder 2 turns out to be a good deal overall. Having said that, it would be the brand value by itself which would ensure that Murder 2 sails smooth at the stands. Written by www.moviencelebrity.com
